Membership
Membership at NTU Library comes with varying borrowing and access privileges, depending on your eligibility.
If you are a member, you can borrow items from any of the libraries under NTU Library and manage your loans in your account online. For information on renewals, returns, recalls, fines, reminders, lost/damaged items or membership cards, click here.

NTU Staff/Student Card Holders
All current NTU staff and student with a valid staff/matriculation card are automatic members of NTU Library. Please use this card as your library card to enter our libraries and borrow library materials.
NTU Staff/Student Without a Card
For staff and student without a staff/matriculation card, your sponsor (school or supervisor) should contact the library on your behalf if membership is required.
We have the following types of external library membership. Membership is non-transferable.
- Personal
- Former NTU Staff
- Tertiary Institution Staff
- Corporate
Privileges for External MembersEntry to libraries at Yunnan Campus (except RSIS Library and NIE Library). For Medical Library at Novena Campus, prior permission is required. Please contact us. E-resources are not accessible from home, office, or anywhere apart from Lee Wee Nam Library on dedicated PCs. Only selected e-resources are available to external members. Please approach the staff at the service counter for assistance. Bookable facilities and services such as Bloomberg terminals are not available to external members. Eligibility
NTU alumni and working professionals residing in Singapore.
Annual Membership Fee (Inclusive of 9% GST)
- S$54.50 (NTU alumni only)
- S$218 (non-NTU alumni)
Non-refundable payment to be made after receiving a notification of a successful application via email.
Application

- NTU alumni: Please apply online using your lifelong alumni email. For assistance
with alumni email or network account, please submit an enquiry to the Service Desk Form.
OR - Non-NTU alumni: Please email us this completed application form with a scanned copy of your degree or professional qualification.
Renewal
Membership starts from the date of approval. To renew your membership, submit a new application form 1 month before the expiry date.
Eligibility
- Former NTU staff who served the University continuously for 10 years of more
- Membership is open only to individuals who reside in Singapore
Annual Membership Fee (Inclusive of 9% GST)
- Complimentary 3-year membership, renewable every 3 years
Application
You are encouraged to apply for membership before you leave NTU. Applications made after that require documentary proof of service.
Applicants without 10 years of continuous service may apply for personal membership.

Renewal
Membership starts from the date of approval. To renew your membership, submit a new application form 1 month before the expiry date.
Eligibility
- Full-time teaching and research staff from tertiary or government-aided institutions of higher learning and research centres
- Membership is only open to individuals who reside in Singapore and a reciprocal agreement with the applicant's institution may be required. Approval is at the sole discretion of NTU Library management.
Application
Read the Data Protection and Privacy Statement and email us the following:
- Application form
- A copy of your letter from your institution's Human Resources office, certifying your designation and length of service
- A recent digital photo in JPEG format (400 [width] x 514 [height] pixels)
Renewal
Your membership lasts 1 year from the date of approval. To renew your membership, submit a new application form 1 month before the expiry date.
Eligibility
Commercial and industrial firms as well as government department and statutory boards.
- Two library cards will be issued to each corporate member
- These cards are non-transferable
- Commercial and industrial firms must have an office in Singapore
Annual Membership Fee
- Subscription fee for corporate membership is S$763 (inclusive of 9% GST) per annum
- Non-refundable payment to be made after receiving a notification of a successful application via email

Your membership lasts 1 year from the date of approval. Renew your membership by submitting a new application form 1 month before the expiry date.
Please read this data protection and privacy statement carefully so that you understand the purposes for which we collect, use and disclose your Personal Data. In this document, "we", "us" and "NTU" refers to Nanyang Technological University and its successors and assigns.
We may collect, use, disclose and process your Personal Data for one or more of the following purposes:
- To process your application to be a Library member;
- To administer and manage your relationship with us as a Library member ("Relationship");
- To contact you or communicate with you via various modes of communication such as voice call, text message or fax message, email or postal mail for the purposes of administering and managing your relationship with us;
- To deal with, administer and manage your use of NTU resources and facilities;
- To verify and process payment when you pay fines, replace lost or misplaced items, pay for document delivery services and other services;
- To conduct statistical analysis of users and usage of our resources and conveying such information in broad terms (but not information in relation to specific individuals) to third parties who have business dealings with us;
- To generate and send you publicity materials for our courses, events and programmes; and
- Any other purpose reasonably related to the aforesaid.
(Collectively, the "Purposes")
We may need to disclose your personal data to third parties, whether located within or outside Singapore, so that they can process data for one or more of the above purposes.
You have the right to withdraw your consent given hereunder. However, your withdrawal of consent could mean that we will not be able to continue with your relationship with us. If you wish to withdraw your consent, please send us an email.
"Personal Data" means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified:
- from that data; or
- from that data and other information to which NTU has or is likely to have access.
