Inclusion & Accessible Education
Overview
The Inclusion & Accessible Education team (I&AE) supports students with special educational needs (SEN). I&AE also works with members of the NTU community providing consultation and advice on academic and non-academic matters.
SEN may arise from:
- Physical and Sensory Challenges (e.g., mobility challenges, hearing loss and vision loss)
- Social and Behavioural Challenges (e.g., ASD, ADHD)
- Learning and Language Challenges (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia)
Medical documentation and/or specialist assessment reports verifying the disability and/or SEN are required to support the application for accommodation and/or support services.
Services
Students with SEN can approach I&AE for assistance on:
- academic assessment accommodations
- advice on and/or loan of assistive technology &/or devices (AT)
- learning support (e.g., notetaking, sign language interpretation)
- SEN funding support for the procurement of support services and/or AT for eligible students
- non-academic support (e.g., on-campus housing, campus mobility orientation, career and internship guidance)
