Minimum Requirement to Apply

Completed High School
A score of at least 8.5 in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Grade 12 examination.

Studying in Grade 12
Current Grade 12 students with good passes in English, Mathematics and elective subjects  in their Year 10 and 11 exams may apply. Applicants are required to provide the results of English, Mathematics, Literature and the best 3 elective subjects from the drop-down list on the application form.

AND

satisfy one of the following English language requirements (from Academic Year 2022-23 onwards):

  • IELTS – an overall score of at least 6.0.
  • TOEFL/TOEFL iBT® Home Edition  – a score of at least 90 (internet-based) or 600 (paper-based).
  • SAT– An overall score of at least 1900(SAT taken before March 2016) or at least a score of 1250 (Redesigned SAT from March 2016, Essay not required).
  • PTE Academic – a score of at least 55.
  • ACT with Writing - a minimum Composite score of at least 30.
  • C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English Advanced (CAE))

The English language requirements for very competitive programmes and non-Science, non-Engineering programmes, double degree programmes, double major programmes will be very much stricter than above mentioned.

Additional Qualification (application will be considered more favorably if submitted)
At least 3 GCE Advanced Level (UK) subjects taken within 12 months in not more than 2 sittings, either from the same or different examination boards (Cambridge, Edexcel, OCR, AQA). However, applicants must be able to submit actual A level or A2 results before June of the year of application. The A Level subjects taken must meet the minimum subject requirements of the programmes applying for.  A-Level Mathematics or A-Level Further Mathematics is required for applying to Engineering and most Science programmes.

OR

A combination score of 4 and 5 in 3 or more Advanced Placement (AP) Tests from CollegeBoard. AP Calculus BC is compulsory for application to Applied Computing in Finance, Engineering and most of the Sciences programmes. The AP subjects should be chosen based on the subject prerequisites of the programmes applying for. AP Physics C is required for programmes that has Physics as the minimum subject requirements.

Direct Admission
Medallists (Gold, Silver or Bronze) of International Science Olympiads Competitions in Biology (IBO), Chemistry (IChO), Physics (IPhO), Mathematics (IMO), Informatics (IOI), Astronomy (IAO), Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) and Artificial Intelligence (IAIO) will be considered for admission more favourably to programmes related to their field of achievement. Medallists of International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) will be considered for programmes offered under Division of Physics and Applied Physics. Admission to programmes not closely related to the field of achievement will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Interview may be conducted before the decision of admissions is made. 

To apply, you must be in the final year of your high school or already completed your high school.

NTU Entrance Examination (NTU EE)
Not required.

Admission interview
Final admissions decisions will include an interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview. Applicants who do not receive an interview invitation will be notified that their application is unsuccessful and will not be considered further in this admissions cycle.

Programmes Eligibility
Eligible to apply for all programmes if fulfil the minimum subject requirements of the programmes. 

Applicants with graduation results available after April 1st of the application year will not be eligible to apply for the LKCMedicine programme and Renaissance Engineering programme in this admission exercise. 

Note:
1. Admission is highly competitive, especially for non-citizens, due to limited places available.  The admission point varies from year to year and between different programmes.  Meeting the minimum requirements to apply does not guarantee admission to any of the programmes in NTU.

2. The primary factor in admission decision is the high school academic performance. If you have taken at least 3 AP (Advanced Placement) subjects or GCE Advanced Level subjects within 12 months in not more than 2 sittings, either from the same or different examination boards (Cambridge, Edexcel, OCR, AQA), you may submit the results for consideration. 

3. Current Grade 12 students if admitted must upload their Grade 12 results and Graduation Certificate to complete the application. Failing which, the admission decision will be revoked.

This form is applicable only to students with Vietnam High School Qualification.

    • Vietnam High School Graduation results (GIAY CHUNG NHAN TOT NGHIEP THPT (TAM THOI) (if already taken)
    • University transcript (if applicable)
  • TOEFL or SAT or IELTS or PTE Academic or ACT with Writing score sheet (Optional, to provide only if taken)

You will receive an application number after your application is successfully submitted. Please login with the password you have created in the application form to pay the application fee and upload the required supporting documents. Your application cannot be processed until application fee and supporting documents are received.
