Champion in Shell Eco Marathon 2018
About the competition: Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams around the world to design, build, test and drive ultra-energy-efficient vehicles. Nanyang Technological University did well again this year, with their vehicle Nanyang Venture 8 emerging champion in the UrbanConcept – Hydrogen category. The team had competed in the battery electric category in 2017 and this year’s strategy to convert the car’s energy source to hydrogen paid off.

Product/Proposal: Nanyang Venture 8, a 4-wheeled urban passenger vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel cell
Description: Nanyang Venture 8 is a vehicle with a carbon fibre chassis and 3D-printed upper shell made of 150 3D-printed parts. It has raced every year for 3 years, performing well each time. It has won prizes in Battery Electric category and was converted to Hydrogen fuel cell for 2018's race.
