Product/Proposal: The Koshi (広至) World vs The Banbo (万保) World
Description: Every time Japan changes an emperor, Japan changes its era name to describe the incoming emperor's reign. With the recent emperor change in 2019, the era name has been changed to Reiwa (令和). In imagining the future, Team Rui Xian envisions two scenarios named after these two candidates, to signify the drastic transition Tokyo will undergo in the oncoming 30 years, Koshi and Banbo.
Koshi means a great vast expanse, indicative of a world that integrated and progressively adopts technology.
Banbo means great security, indicative of a world that differentiated and conservatively adopts technology.
With these directions, Team Rui Xian rigorously analysed the state of the world, panning out plausible scenarios on how we will live, work and play in 2050.
