Accenture X BAC Case Competition 2024
Name of the competition: Accenture X BAC Case Competition
About the competition: The Accenture X BAC Case Competition 2024 is a business analytics case competition that promotes data-driven exploration of sustainability and tourism. Open to university students, the competition promotes teams that span across different disciplines and the inclusion of women in the teams. The case was inspired by a real-life project that Accenture’s Sustainability Services had worked on. Over two weeks, participants were given the task of empowering their client company to achieve their net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2050. Using a large dataset, participants had to glean insights through rigorous analysis and create a comprehensive decarbonisation plan.

Product/Proposal: The team provided an exhaustive analysis on the carbon footprints of all the different pathways the company could take to decarbonise. They then developed a 25-year plan to implement the solution, driven by financial and operational performance indicators to bring the company towards its net zero goal by 2050. The judges recognised many parallels between the team’s recommendations and the real-life solutions Accenture had recommended to its clients, and commended the team’s acute focus on the financial feasibility of the decarbonising actions recommended.
