Name of the competition: Singapore Business Case Competition X African Challenge 2024
About the competition: SBCC X African Challenge 2024 is a competition organised by NTU Business Solutions. 2024's edition had over 90 participating teams from various universities over Singapore. The case theme revolved around Olam Agri’s Ghana rice segment which focused on solving the local paddy procurement system, persuading farmers to adopt best farming practices and shifting consumer perception towards locally produced rice.

Product/Proposal: The team proposed two key digital platforms aimed at solving smallholder farmers’ financing needs, educating them on best farming practices and pooling resources through a crowd-funding initiative. These digital solutions were tailored to Ghana through use of text-based messaging services. The team also recommended an enhanced rice brand with a bold short and long-term strategy to overcome consumer perception towards local rice.
