About the competitionThe Heavener International Case Competition (HICC) is a prestigious global undergraduate business case competition hosted by the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Sixteen internationally accredited business schools participated, challenging students to tackle complex strategic issues faced by global business leaders. The competition featured two rigorous business cases: a nine-hour case and a final 28-hour case. These scenarios provided students with real-world application, strengthening their problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. The event also fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange among students and coaches. Judging criteria emphasized analysis, feasibility, and implementation.

Product/Proposal The team presented their strategy with payroll card providers during the Grand Finals to migrate Intermex Online's retail consumers to its digital platforms. The strategy was driven by a unique approach to target employers and featured three key components: roll-out of new in-app features, reallocation of retail sales team to implement training modules, and provision of new loyalty point redemption opportunities for existing retail agents.

Description : The team was commended for its unique and rigorous analysis, practical recommendations and clear Q&A demonstration. By securing a Global second runner-up, NTU has achieved a podium finish at HICC for the second consecutive year.
