​ASE student Winona Wijaya wins best poster at international conference

Our warmest congratulations to undergraduate student Winona Wijaya, who has won the best poster award at the international conference First Indonesian Symposium on Microbial Ecology earlier this week. The fact that she was the only undergraduate among presenters makes her performance even more outstanding. Ms Wijaya has now been invited to give a seminar about her work at the University of Brawijaya (Indonesia). Ms Wijaya does her research as part of S.L.I.M.E. (Singapore Laboratory for Integrative Microbial Ecology) at ASE under the supervision of Federico Lauro and Caroline Chénard. The title of her winning poster was ‘The monsoon season affects the microbial community structure of Singapore coastal waters’.
