Straits Times interviews ASE’s Dr. Grahame Oliver about possible dinosaur footprint in Singapore
A few years ago NTU geologist Dr. Grahame Oliver discovered a possible dinosaur claw print in red mudstone on Sentosa island. The old age of the rock, 200 million years, means that it was formed in the early days of the dinosaurs, in the Triassic Period. More evidence is needed to confirm the discovery, but it is quite exciting that Singapore now has its first “possible dinosaur-related discovery”, Dr. Oliver tells Straits times. The finding is published in the book Field Guide To The Geology Of Singapore, coauthoured by Oliver and freely available on the website of Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (https://lkcnhm.nus.edu.sg/app/uploads/2017/04/GeologyGuideSGP.pdf).
