Flow Cytometry
Flow Cytometry has the ability to discriminate, quantify and sort distinct population of cells based on expression of markers with rapid ease thus opening up new research opportunities or aid in current research Work. A summary of how flow cytometry is used is found here.

The Symphony A5.2 Full-spectral 50-channel flow-cytometer is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology in flow-cytometry. It uses a novel technology enabling sample acquisition in both full-spectral and conventional modes. This unique feature is not present in our other flow-cytometers. The advantage of acquisition in full-spectral mode is that users can now distinguish closely similar dyes apart which often remains a problem in our current flow-cytometers. In addition, since spectral spill-over of signals into adjacent channels contributing to noisy resolution is a major issue in our current conventional flow-cytometer, this new full-spectral feature eliminates this problem. Students and researchers can now be accustomed to this new full-spectral technology which is set to become the future in flow-cytometry. Aligning with NTU’s mission to be at the forefront of education and research, this new equipment shall pave the way to new discoveries by removing the hurdles in fluorochrome panel design.
