Sajen Aswani is a third-generation leader of the family-owned business with diversified interests spanning consumer products, fintech, infrastructure and industrials. 

He served as Chief Executive from 2000 to 2024 and has over 40 years of experience in developing, managing and driving the diverse business across Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States. 

Sajen oversaw Tolaram’s strategic reorganisation into three distinct units: a trust, a philanthropic arm, and a family office, ensuring the long-term sustainability and impact of the business’ operations. 

He continues to serve on various boards of Tolaram as a non-executive director. 

He is also actively engaged in the non-profit sector, sitting on several boards, including the Centre for Fathering in Singapore and The Family Business Network, where he is the Chairman of its Asian chapter. He currently also chairs B Lab Singapore, a global non-profit network transforming the economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. 

Sajen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from University College, London (1983) and a Masters in Management Science from Imperial College, London (1984).
