NBS Gaia Campus Showcasing Three Students Interacting

Home of NBS

Gaia, the home of Nanyang Business School, is Asia’s largest wooden building, adding to NTU’s list of green developments as part of the university’s commitment to sustainability.

Using an innovative construction technology called ‘mass-engineered timber’, the material for the building is sourced from renewable forests, making it NTU’s most ambitious sustainable construction project to date.

Gaia is the eighth building project on the NTU campus that has received the Green Mark Platinum (Zero Energy) – the highest award issued by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore to recognise buildings that consume as much energy as they produce. Presently, there are 16 certified zero energy buildings in the country, of which half are located on NTU grounds, making NTU the greenest campus in Singapore.

The six storey, 40,000 square-metre facility provides an innovative learning space for more than 4,500 students. The building will have 25 smart classrooms equipped with the latest technologies. Students and faculty will have access to world-class spaces and facilities especially designed to support flexible and collaborative learning into the future.
