New programme offerings to make graduates future ready
As a premier business school within a leading technological university, Nanyang Business School (NBS) is the nexus of world-class innovation, research, and business education. This is evident in the progressive curricula of NBS's undergraduate programmes, bringing together the best of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and NBS.

Double Degree in Accountancy and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence
NBS's new double degree in accountancy and data science & artificial intelligence combines the strengths of NBS and School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) to embrace the evolving technological revolution, create positive impact and transform the status quo.
The double degree rides on the strong global reputation of NTU's Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, which is named among the world's top ten by Forbes, as well as the Bachelor of Accountancy programme's status as Singapore's oldest and most reputable accounting programme.
This is one of the most in-demand double degree programmes where graduates will be equipped with skills in both Accountancy as well as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Students will graduate with two degrees, a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, in 4.5 years with direct honours
We reached out to Undergraduate Assoc Dean, Prof Low Kin Yew to share the rationale and benefits of combining data science & AI with accountancy.
He said: "Accounting involves the collection, measurement and interpretation of financial data while Data Science and Artificial Intelligence focus on the use of mathematics, statistics and computing technologies to make sense of data for the purpose of improving judgment and decision-making. Combining the two programmes enables you to integrate both disciplines and acquire skills to more effectively use financial and non-financial data to tackle business issues.
Bachelor of Accountancy with Second Major in Entrepreneurship
Students can now also pursue a second Major in Entrepreneurship (SMiE), offered by Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre (NTC) in collaboration with NBS. What makes potential employees attractive to employers is their talent and ability to generate and execute innovative ideas. The sMiE is developed to prepare students for challenges in this new digital age, by promoting greater flexibility for undergraduates to pursue interdisciplinary programmes and pan-university majors.
"This new major in entrepreneurship will help you put your enterprising ideas into action and to better manage the odds stacked against entrepreneurial success. You will have opportunities to meet, work and collaborate with other enterprising students who can complement your skills, abilities or resources," Prof Low added.
The new programmes were added as part of the NTU 2025 strategic plan to offer a university-wide common interdisciplinary core curriculum to all freshmen from the new academic year starting in August 2021.
