Singapore’s Bill Against Scams

In a live TV news interview and a live radio interview by CNA, A/P Hannah Yee-Fen Lim gives her expert opinion on why drastic measures in the Protection From Scams Bill are urgently needed.

Proposed new laws could give police more powers to stop scam victims from sending money to scammers through their banks, especially if victims refuse to believe they are being scammed. Associate Professor Hannah Yee-Fen Lim from NTU's Nanyang Business School shares her views on whether the measure is too drastic. She also tells CNA how likely the proposed Bill could stop people from transferring money to scammers.
