Additional Information
Machine Learning Algorithms for Clinical Decision SupportProfessor Loren LaineChief, Section of Digestive Diseases, Internal Medicine, Yale University
The talk covers the background on GI bleeding and use of clinical decision support tools. It will touch on the development of ML models that improve on prior clinical risk stratification instruments; that use data from electronic health records that can provide excellent decision support within a few hours of a patient presenting to the emergency department.
Prof Laine also plans to share some insights into initial work in their simulation center assessing acceptance of decision support tools that are provided to the clinicians during simulation of clinical situations.
Medicine: An Exercise of Our ImaginationDr Junaid BajwaSenior Partner, Head of UK, and Science PartnerPioneering Intelligence, Flagship Pioneering
Health systems face many challenges today, and technology innovators can play a critical role in helping those health systems solve them. This session will provide an overview of some of the current challenges health systems face and how transformative technology can help address them. Within this context, we will also explore how the practice of medicine will be radically reimagined with trusted, reliable, human-centred AI.
