The Centre for Accounting and Auditing Research (CAAR) was established in February 1994 with the mission to:
• Promote quality academic and applied research in accounting and auditing
• Foster links with industry through joint research and consulting.
At CAAR, we are engaged in the following activities:
1. Planning, conducting, and providing administrative support for research on significant issues relating to accounting or auditing
2. Organising research seminars, workshops, round-table discussions, and forums on emerging or controversial issues affecting the accounting and auditing profession
3. Circulating working papers and other monographs to disseminate research findings amongst academics and professionals
4. Organising or supporting the organisation of local and international accounting conferences for academics and professionals.
