Master of Science in Blockchain - Feb Info Session Successfully Held in Downtown Singapore
On 29 February 2024, in downtown Singapore, Nanyang Technological University's Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance(NTU-CCTF) successfully held the Master of Science in Blockchain(MSBT) Info Session @ Vanguard Building. The evening brought together a vibrant community of NTU academics, industry pioneers and blockchain professionals, united by a shared vision to advance blockchain technology education system.
Leading the session was Prof. Wen Yonggang, Director of NTU-CCTF. He also serves as the Associate Provost (Graduate Education) and Dean of Graduate College at NTU Singapore. Prof. Wen presented an engaging overview of NTU and NTU-CCTF, and the overview of the MSBT programme, which is setting the benchmark for blockchain education globally.
Prof. Li Yi, the Programme Director and an authoritative voice in blockchain technology, delved into the programme details. His address covered the spectrum of faculty expertise, programme structure, and the unique capstone project, designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. Prof. Li further outlined the admission process, tuition fees, scholarship opportunities, and the integrative IGP PhD programme, providing prospective students with a clear roadmap to joining this cutting-edge programme.
A particularly engaging portion of the evening was the sharing from MSBT existing students – Huang Peicheng, Ma Lexin, and Li Bo. Their sharing were not just about curriculum and coursework, but also the immersive learning environment at NTU, the hands-on experiences they have gained, and the career vistas that have opened up thanks to the university’s progressive approach to blockchain education.
Esteemed Corporations from NTU MSBT Capstone projects such as Mr. Donghao Huang, Vice President of R&D at Mastercard Foundry, Prof. Rick Goh, Director of Computing & Intelligence at A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing, and Dr. Wei Qingsong, Group Manager of Decentralized Computing and Principal Scientist at IHPC, A*STAR, took the stage to exemplify the exceptional contributions of MSBT students to real-world blockchain advancements. Their presentations highlighted the remarkable talent and innovation fostered through the NTU MSBT programme.
The NTU MSBT Info Session also welcomed Vitalik Buterin, Chair of the NTU-CCTF Advisory Committee and the well-known Founder of Ethereum, who attended as part of the audience.
Post-presentations, the event transitioned into a dynamic Q&A and networking segment, cultivating engaging discussions and building new synergies among students, established professionals, and blockchain enthusiasts.
