NTU-CCTF 2025 Master of Science in Blockchain Info Session

On January 16, 2025, Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Master of Science in Blockchain (MSBT) Info Session took place at the SBF Center in Singapore. Organized by the NTU Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance (NTU-CCTF) and co-hosted by the Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS), the event provided details  of the MSBT programme’s 2025 admissions and highlighted blockchain’s transformative potential across industries. With attendees including prospective students, academic experts, and industry leaders, the event emphasized the growing demand for specialized blockchain education.

The session opened with remarks by Prof. Wen Yonggang, Dean of Graduate College, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) in the President’s Office, Director of the Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance (NTU-CCTF), and Professor and President’s Chair of  the NTU College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS). Prof. Wen highlighted NTU-CCTF’s mission to merge advanced academic research with real-world applications and drive innovation at the intersection of blockchain and related technologies. Prof. Li Yi, Programme Director of MSBT, Associate Director of NTU-CCTF, and Associate Professor at CCDS, provided a detailed overview of the MSBT programme, including its curriculum structure, admission details, and other key information.Dr. Teoh Teik Toe, the Supervisor of the MSBT Capstone Project, showcased capstone projects in collaboration with industry partners. 

Next, current MSBT students shared their personal experiences and insights, emphasizing how the curriculum had shaped their understanding of blockchain technology and its applications. They discussed the programme’s significant impact on their academic and professional journeys, preparing them to thrive in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.

 

The session also featured a high-profile industry panel discussion titled “Shaping Your Career: Exploring Industry Needs and Opportunities in Blockchain.” Panelists included blockchain leaders such as Glenn Woo (Head of APAC, Blockdaemon), Monica Yuan (Head of Partnership & Marketing, LTP), Gracie Lin (CEO, OKX Singapore), Justin Ng (Investor, UOB Venture Management), Henry Zhang (Founder & CEO, DigiFT), Chen Shan Long (General Manager, XVC Tech), and Caleb Lim (Founding Member & Chief Growth Officer, Helix). They shared insights into blockchain’s growing role in decentralized finance, tokenization, and enterprise solutions, while highlighting the rising demand for professionals capable of driving blockchain innovation.

The evening concluded with an engaging Q&A session and a networking dinner, where attendees had the opportunity to connect with NTU faculty, industry experts, and peers. Attendees expressed great enthusiasm for the insights gained and the opportunities presented during the event.
