NTU-CCTF’s Director Prof. Wen Yonggang Delivers Keynote at Chainlink SmartCon 2024: Unifying AI and Blockchain through Verifiable Computing

On October 31, 2024, Prof. Wen Yonggang, President’s Chair in Computer Science and Engineering, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) & Dean of the Graduate College at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and Director of the NTU Centre of Computational Technologies in Finance (NTU-CCTF), delivered a groundbreaking keynote at Chainlink’s SmartCon 2024 titled “When AI Meets Blockchain.”

Held in Hong Kong from October 30-31, 2024, SmartCon attracted over 1,500 in-person attendees and featured globally recognized leaders and influential speakers. Recognized as a premier global blockchain conference, SmartCon united experts from traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi) to collaboratively explore the future of global finance.

Prof. Wen introduced “Verifiable Computing as a Grand Unified Theory for AI & Blockchain.” Key insights from his speech included a vision of unifying AI and blockchain as transformative forces reshaping society and presenting Verifiable Computing as a unified framework through the Energy-Computing-Token model to create synergies between AI and blockchain.
