MaritimeONE Scholarships Awarded to 23 NTU Maritime Studies Students at MaritimeONE and Tripartite Maritime Scholarships (TMSS) 2024

The MaritimeONE and Tripartite Maritime Scholarships (TMSS) Awards Ceremony 2024 was held on 6 September 2024 at Conrad Centennial Singapore. A total of 63 MaritimeONE Scholarships and 10 Tripartite Maritime Scholarships were awarded by sponsors from industry, unions, associations, foundations, and institutes of higher learning.

Mr. Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & Ministry of Transport, was the Guest-of-Honour at the awards ceremony attended by the scholarship recipients, their families and senior company representatives.

The MaritimeONE Scholarship signifies Maritime Singapore’s commitment in nurturing the next generation of talents. Beyond a recognition of their academic excellence, the programme presents scholars with opportunities to participate in various industry networking events, mentorship, internships, and more.

Among the 63 MaritimeONE Scholarships recipients, 23 are maritime studies students from NTU’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Final-year maritime studies student Koh Xiang Yun, recipient of the “K” Line  - MaritimeONE Scholarship 2024 is passionate about the sea and its role in global trade. Her career goal is to become a ship operator, focusing on integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices to enhance the efficiency of future maritime operations.

She said: “My fascination with the sea and its role in global commerce inspired me to join the maritime industry, where I can blend my love for the ocean with cutting-edge technology. I aspire to lead innovative projects that enhance efficiency and sustainability in maritime operations.”
