Nanyang Awards 2024
CCDS has much to celebrate at this year’s Nanyang Awards Presentation Ceremony, held on 6 November 2024 at Nanyang Auditorium. This year, four CCDS faculty members were honoured with Nanyang Awards – two for excellence in education and two for outstanding contributions to research.
Associate Professor Lee Bu-Sung and Associate Professor Arvind Easwaran have each received this year’s Nanyang Education Award in recognition of their exceptional teaching dedication and excellence. Awarded in the College and School categories respectively, this prestigious honour highlights their significant contributions to enriching the learning experiences of CCDS undergraduates. Professor Loy Chen-Change was awarded the Nanyang Research Award in recognition of his significant breakthroughs and global impact in the field of visual content enhancement, image restoration, and video restoration.
Associate Professor Zhang Hanwang was awarded the Nanyang Research Award (Young Investigator), which recognizes exceptional young researchers under 39 who have made pivotal contributions to their field. As a leading expert in causality within AI, he is not only a prominent figure in Singapore's AI community but also an internationally recognized authority. His work bridges theoretical advancements with real-world applications, playing a critical role in shaping the future of AI across industries.
