Visit by Professor Richard James
We were honored to host Professor Richard James at our research center, where we engaged in a fruitful discussion regarding the MOE Tertiary Education Research Fund (TRF). As the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Undergraduate), Deputy Provost, and Co-Director of the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education, Professor James brings a wealth of experience to the table. His expertise as a Chair in Higher Education, coupled with his role as the Chair of TRF grants, provided valuable insights into the landscape of educational research. Our conversation delved into the nuances of TRF, a research fund supported by the Ministry of Education in Singapore, designed to empower education researchers in Institutes of Higher Learning. We specifically explored opportunities within TRF for applied educational research projects, focusing on Pre-Employment Training (PET). Professor James's perspectives and contributions greatly enriched our understanding of TRF, and we look forward to potential collaborations in the future based on the shared vision for advancing education research.
