Successful Online Event between CSCEC Singapore and Nanyang Technological University
Singapore – CSCEC Singapore, in its continuous effort to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing students' understanding of the local construction industry's advancements, has established a robust partnership with local universities. For four consecutive years, the company has facilitated knowledge exchange activities, focusing on construction technology.
On April 28, 2023, CSCEC Singapore in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University, successfully conducted an online seminar themed "Residential Project Development and Project Construction Management." The event, organized by the Human Resources Department, Engineering Technology Center, Venture Capital Department, and Comprehensive Office, witnessed participation from 40 students of Nanyang Technological University's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, alongside representatives of CSCEC Singapore's new employees.
Addressing the attendees were Ms. Liang Lulu, Assistant General Manager of the Human Resources and Administration Department at China Construction South Pacific, and Associate Professor Robert Tiong from Nanyang Technological University's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. They underscored the significance of academic-industry technological exchange. Sharing practical insights were Mr. Francis Chan, General Manager of the Real Estate Project Development Department of China Construction Group, and Mr. Wang Baohua, Project Manager of China Construction South Pacific's Twin VEW project. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Sheng Yukun, General Manager of the Engineering Technology Center at China Construction South Pacific.
During the interactive session, participants engaged speakers by posing questions related to Green and Gracious Builder Scheme (GGBS) standards, challenges in constructing tall buildings, and the prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (PPVC) production process. The speakers provided detailed insights, nurturing students' aspirations to contribute to the local construction industry.
Associate Professor Robert Tiong expressed appreciation for CSCEC's dedication to enriching students' practical knowledge. He emphasized the event's value in providing comprehensive insights into the real estate project lifecycle and suggested the possibility of future visits to the company's new PPVC factory and further collaborations.
