Second Annual Glion Summit of Centres for Digital Trust (August 28-30, 2024, Glion, Switzerland)
Building on the success of its debut, the Glion Summit returned in 2024, gathering 16 leading academic centres dedicated to digital trust. With four new participants from universities like Arizona State University and Carnegie Mellon University, the gathering was a hub for discussing key challenges, strategies, and future collaborations. This year’s spotlight was on overcoming internal challenges faced by centres—such as faculty engagement and adapting to industry needs—and leveraging journalism to guide research, recognising the media's crucial role in shaping public understanding of digital trust issues. The summit concluded with several actionable steps, including the creation of a "Centres Operations Manual," plans for joint research and collaboration, along with organising a similar event the following year. The event continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital trust initiatives on a global scale.
