Master of Science in Blockchain

This programme emphasizes the theoretical foundations of blockchain technology, hands-on engineering skills for blockchain development, and managerial skills covering blockchain governance, laws and regulations, and business management, to broaden students’ horizon with specializations necessary for making real-world impacts. The program enables students to adopt the latest industrial practices and solve problems in a way that balances technical considerations and social responsibilities.

Students can further enhance their knowledge and skills on particular domains through elective courses based on their individual backgrounds and aspirations. In addition, students have the option to work with industrial experts on related projects, which will give them a chance to practice what has been taught in the program. The MSc in Blockchain programme offers an abundance of opportunities for students to work on pressing issues faced by the industry, in order to nurture talents to tackle the complex, multi-faceted challenge of developing blockchain solutions for real-world problems.

a) A good honour degree in computer related majors from reputable universities and institutes, or a good bachelor‘s degree in any discipline with 2 years of computer programming job experience.

b) A good TOEFL / IELTS scores for graduates of universities in which English is not the medium of instruction.

• TOEFL Score (Test dates must be within 2 years or less from the date of application):

               ≥ 600 (paper-based)

               ≥ 250 (computer-based)

               ≥ 100 (internet-based)

•  IELTS Score (Test date must be within 2 years or less from the date of application):≥ 6.5

c) GRE is not required for MSc programme (by coursework).

We emphasize that the selection process is competitive. Meeting all prior requirements does not guarantee selection. All applicants will be holistically evaluated academically, relevancy of work experience and other relevant experiences.

Total Graduation Requirement: 30 AUs with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

Each compulsory course is a 3 AU course with 39 teaching hours, including lectures, tutorials, example classes and labs over 12 weeks. Each elective course is a 1.5 AU course with 19.5 teaching hours over 6 weeks. The Blockchain Innovation project (internship program) is a one-year project with 6 AU. The project (internship) will be co-supervised by industrial experts through the Technical Fellowship Program. The innovation project is not a compulsory component.

Notes on payment of fees:

Fees are subject to annual revision.

Students will be billed at the commencement of each trimester, and payment due date is 2 weeks after billing date. A student who withdraws or leaves the University two or more weeks after the commencement of his candidature or the commencement of the semester is liable to pay the fees due for the trimester.

# If you are a Singaporean student, you may use your SkillsFuture credits towards tuition fees. The claim submission has to be completed 60 days before the start date of the next trimester. In your claim, indicate the course start date to be the first day of the upcoming trimester in the Academic Calendar. e.g. 14 August 2023

GRANTS

NTU Alumni Grant
NTU alumni who completed an undergraduate or post-graduate degree programme with NTU will receive a one-time grant of 10% off the tuition fees (before GST). This grant will be applied on the final payment of the course and it can only be used to offset the tuition fees and no other fees related to the course of study.

Individuals pursuing postgraduate studies in specialised tech or media-related areas such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Analytics, Immersive Media, and Digital Content Creation can chart their future with this scholarship.

SG Digital Scholarship has also expanded with a new focus area to support local talent pursuing research in future communications technologies. Support will be given to postgraduate local students to pursue research and translational projects related to future communications technologies (e.g. 5G technologies and beyond).
