NTU-A*STAR-HCI H3 Science Research Oral Presentation Assessment

Assessment Criteria

The weightings of the different modes of assessment for NTU-A*STAR-HCI H3 Science Research are:

The Oral Presentation Assessment is compulsory for all NTU-A*STAR-HCI H3 Science Research students and is one of three assessment components of NTU-A*STAR-HCI H3 Science Research. It will be conducted in person at NTU in late February/early March. 

 

Assessment Date, Time and Venue

The exact assessment date, time and venue will be confirmed through an email in February.

The date and time of your assessment will be allocated and cannot be changed. No make-up assessment session will be arranged in the event of any absence or you miss your allocated assessment time. Students who miss the Oral Presentation Assessment will be given a zero for this component.

The assessment will be conducted in one of the meeting rooms within Student Services Centre, NTU.

 

Attire

You are required to be in your full school uniform on the day of the assessment.

 

Components for Oral Presentation Assessment 

You will be required to give an oral presentation of your NTU-A*Star-HCI H3 Science Research project to two Independent Assessors. Officers from MOE and/or SEAB may be present.

10 minutes will be allocated for your oral presentation and a further 10 minutes will be for Q&A and oral defence, making up a total of 20 minutes.

Prepare for and practise your oral presentation in advance, to ensure that you are able to keep within the time limit allocated. Assessors reserve the right to end the presentation should you exceed the time limit.

 

Presentation Slides

You may prepare your presentation slides using PowerPoint or any equivalent presentation software. 

Do ensure that the text and diagrams in your presentation are clear and legible. You may want to prepare backup tables, diagrams and figures for your Q&A/oral defence.

You are required to bring along your own laptop. You will have access to a projector and projector screen during your Oral Presentation Assessment session. The projector in the assessment room supports a resolution of up to 1280 x 800 pixels via a VGA connection. If your laptop does not have a VGA port, you will have to bring along the necessary adaptors.

 

Hardcopy Print-Outs

To facilitate grading, you are to bring along:
-  2 printed copies of your presentation slides; and
-  2 printed copies of your Research Paper.

 

Checklist of Items to Bring

1)  Photo ID (Student Smart Card / NRIC / Passport)
2)  Laptop
3)  HDMI / Lightning / USB-C to VGA Adapter (if your laptop does not have a VGA port) 
4)  2 printed copies of your presentation slides

5)  2 printed copies of your Research Paper
