Dr Chan graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering, Chemical (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore in 2001. She was subsequently awarded a joint scholarship by Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd (CSM) and National University of
Singapore (NUS) for her Ph.D candidature. Her Ph.D work was a trilateral program involving NUS, CSM as well as the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC). She was also awarded the A*STAR graduate scholarship in 2002.
Upon conferment of her doctorate, she joined CSM’s R&D team as senior engineer, specializing in advanced lithography techniques particularly mask layout, IC design and generation on mask as well as technology tapeout operations. She later joined
an intellectual property firm drafting technical patent specifications in the chemical and life sciences team.
She joined EnRI as a Research Fellow in 2009 and was promoted to Senior Research Fellow in 2012. Her research interests include combustion science, detonation physics and chemistry, parameterization and modification of equations of state for energetic materials, modelling and simulation of threat tests to predict hazard response and the development of codes and subroutines for modelling sub-detonative events.
Siyan earned her Master's degree in Chemistry from Beihang University, China, in 2017. In January 2024, she joined EnRI as a Research Associate. Her research focuses on modelling and simulation of energetic materials, as well as employing machine learning for high-throughput screening of materials with targeted properties.

Siew Chin accumulated rich experiences in her previous roles in GlobalFoundries(Singapore), Statschippac, AMS Optical sensor and UTAC. In her work, she took on the roles of wet etch and CVD process engineer(frontend fab, GF), new product introduction engineer(OSAT, statschippac and UTAC) and yield enhancement/product engineer(AMS optical sensor).
Siew Chin graduated from NUS, chemical engineering and has been actively contributing to the semiconductor industry for more than 10 years. Her passion for research has led her to the current role with EnRI.
Dr Lim received his Bachelor's Degree with honours (2018) and Ph.D. (2023) in Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (MAE, NTU, Singapore). His Ph.D. research works focus on the numerical methods of acoustic generation and interaction, thermoacoustic coupling, and aerodynamics. Upon the Ph.D. study, he joined as Research Fellow in Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab for a project involving the application of machine learning on numerical simulations. He later joined EnRI as a Research Fellow in January 2024. His current research interests include AI for science, modelling and simulation of fluid dynamics, combustion, and detonation, as well as developing numerical methods for energetic materials.

Angela graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2020 with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. For her research project, she investigated the effects of spray flux on nucleation and bed dynamics in the fluidised bed granulator.
She joined EnRI as a Research Associate in November 2020 and is currently working on the modelling and simulation of energetic materials.
Yew Jin obtained his Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry with a 2nd major in Food Science and Technology from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2019. During his undergraduate studies, he was involved in several research projects that are related to organic synthesis and catalysis. His research focused on the development of new and efficient synthetic routes to heterocyclic compounds via transition metal catalysis, as well as devising and applying novel palladacycle-catalyzed asymmetric hydrophosphination protocols for enantioselective phosphine synthesis. Before joining EnRI, he worked as an Assistant Chemist in the paint industry where he was involved in product development for industrial, architectural, and automotive coatings.
He joined EnRI as a Project Officer in June 2020. His current research interests include the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel energetic materials.

Dr Chandra Shekhar Perugu received his Ph.D. in Department of Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, India in 2018. From 2018-2023, he was working as a Research Associate at the same institution. His Ph.D. work focused on Development of wrought Mg-Li based alloys with improved strength and ductility.
He joined EnRI as a Research fellow in December 2023. His current research interests include synthesis and characterization of novel fluorinated polymers for binder applications.

Dr Sreekumar Pisharath received his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from NTU in 2005. He joined Energetics Research Institute (EnRI) in 2005 and is currently working as a Principal Research Fellow. His research interests are in the areas of synthesis and characterization of energetic polymers, thermal analysis of energetic material composites, nanoenergetic materials, fracture behavior and microscopy of composite materials. He has authored 10 journal/conference papers and co-authored a book on energetic binders and plasticizers.

Dr Quek received his Bachelor’s Degree with honours (2014) and Ph.D (2019) in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University (SPMS, NTU, Singapore). His graduate research encompassed the syntheses of Iron and Copper complexes through the use of sterically bulky ligands, so to stabilize the corresponding high valent and reactive intermediates inspired by biological systems for the oxidation chemistry of strong C-H and O-H bonds. After which, he joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE, NTU) as a Research Fellow in May 2019, studying the use of metal-organic framework (MOF) films as gasochromic devices for sensing as well as the deposition of Hafnium oxide and Magnesium oxide thin films through atomic layered deposition (ALD) process for resistive memory device.
He joined EnRI as a Research Fellow in May 2020 and his current research interests include the synthesis and characterization of fluoropolymers and nanoenergetic materials. He is also interested in the synthesis of transition metal framework and thin film technologies.

Dr Seng received his Ph.D in Computational Plasma Physics from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2016. Prior to his current appointment at EnRI, Dr Seng has more than sixteen years of experience in various defense related applied physics research.
He is currently working in the areas of theoretical and computational combustion of energetic materials, and building up reactive hydrodynamic codes for modeling new energetic materials. Related to this work is his interest to apply molecular dynamics methods and perform mesoscale physics modeling to derive models and parameters for accurate dynamical simulation of energetic materials at the macroscopic scale.
He is also interested in plasma physics, quantum gravity and the foundation issues of physics.
Jun Jing received her Bachelor’s Degree with honours in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University in 2023. Her undergraduate research was focused on the design of metal-organic framework (MOF) coated metal-oxide nanoparticles to create a local-pressurized microenvironment for the accumulation of gas molecules at the nanoparticle@MOF interface, so as to boost the efficiency of toxic gas sequestration at ambient conditions which eliminates the need of high temperature and/or pressure in conventional gas-based applications.
She joined EnRI as a Project Officer in October 2023. Her current research interests include the synthesis and characterization of nanoenergetic materials. She is also interested in the synthesis of nanoparticles and nanocomposite materials.
Dr Venu Keerthi completed his Ph.D. from Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore, specialized in synthesis of photoactive perfluorophenyl azide crosslinkers, organic semiconducting polymers and their device (light emitting diode, Photovoltaic and Field effect transistor) applications. Prior to Ph.D. studies, he worked as a research assistant at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), India, where his research primarily focused on ‘surface plasmon resonance of silver nanoparticles on nano-wall network of Gallium Nitride (GaN).
He joined EnRI in February 2017 as a Research Associate. His research interest includes, synthesis and characterization of energetic polymers.

Dr Yeo received his Ph.D degree in Physics from the National University of Singapore in 2004. He joined Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing in 2004 as a technology development process engineer working on bond pad and contact metallization, manufacturing technology transfer and qualifying new process for 300mm fab. In 2011, he worked with Globalfoundries developing BEOL and TSV metallization process. In 2013, he joined EnRI to pursue his research interest in energetics micro devices.
His research interests include developing micro-chip igniters and integration of energetic material with microelectronic technologies.
