From Idea to Innovation: Leading Beyond Chemistry at Evonik
Synopsis:
The efficient development of innovative products is crucial for the competitiveness of all companies. Practical methods and tools, such as interdisciplinary and cross-company collaboration, that enable efficient translation of ideas into commercial applications are more necessary than ever. Additionally, the development of sustainable products and services has become the next big challenge with great opportunities for growth.
In this session, Mr. Fischer, Evonik's Chief Innovation Officer, will explain how a world-leading specialty chemicals company continuously develops solutions beyond chemistry through research and development, as well as how important the right innovation management is in this process.
Particular attention will be paid to the Group's six innovation growth fields, which have a significant impact on improving our quality of life. For example, Evonik’s lipid nanoparticles have been instrumental in developing innovative solutions for the global development of mRNA vaccines.

About the Speaker:
Andreas Fischer has been Chief Innovation Officer (since July 2020) at Evonik, a global leader in specialty chemicals. With a degree in industrial engineering, he aims to strengthen the combination of innovative capability and customer proximity. He also brings international experience from sales and management of various business units in the Group, which is present in more than 100 countries with more than 32,000 employees.
