AEM Core Group Workshop on OpenQuake Hazard Component

The Institute of Catastrophe Risk Management (ICRM) and ASEAN Secretariat jointly organizing ASEAN Earthquake Model (AEM) Workshop on OpenQuake Hazard Component during 30 July – 01 Aug 2013 at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The aim of the AEM project is provide comprehensive assessment of seismic hazard and risk of exposure and disaster preparedness in ASEAN member states. The workshop is focused on training the use of OpenQuake platform, in particular the hazard component, to the AEM Core Group members. During the Workshop, we will also have an opportunity to discuss the AEM Project planning and execution.

The meeting will serve as an opportunity for the proposed AEM Core Group members, i.e. NTU, BMKG/BG, and Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), to discuss several important matters including:

• Discussion on the Project execution in particular hazard component; and
• Training on OpenQuake platform to the AEM Core Group
