On November 30, 2023 (Thursday), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) played host to a distinguished delegation from the Centre for Scientific Research and Development (CSRD) in Higher Education Institutes, Ministry of Education, People's Republic of China.
The team consisted of the following members, Head of delegation - Ms Gao Yang (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CSRD), Member - Ms Zeng Yan (Director of Science and Technology Development Strategy Research Department, CSRD) and Member - Ms Kong Jian (Project Director of Science and Technology Development Strategy Research Department, CSRD). This visit marked a significant step towards fostering collaborative efforts in the field of Safety and Health in scientific research between CSRD, China and NTU, Singapore.
Mr Saravanan Gunaratnam, The Director of Office of Health and Safety, showcased NTU's commitment to maintaining high Safety and Health standards in research environments. The CSRD delegates, Ms Gao Yang and Ms. Zeng Yan reciprocated by sharing their experiences and practices from Chinese universities, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and methodologies focused on Safety and Health. In the afternoon, the CSRD delegation had the opportunity to tour the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Laboratories at NTU. This hands-on experience provided the visitors with a deeper understanding of the university's Safety and Health implementation and practices.
The visit by the CSRD delegation to Nanyang Technological University on November 30, 2023, served as a bridge for cross-cultural collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of Safety and Health. The interactions between NTU and the Chinese delegation laid the groundwork for potential future collaborations.
