Students On The Ground

Student befrienders interacting

"Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless but because they are priceless" - Sherry Anderson

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Many things are happening on campus - it's a matter of knowing where to look. Have a glimpse into efforts by your fellow students, and be inspired by their passion and dedication.

Volunteer 360 Experience

Experience something new!
Open up your hearts and minds with Volunteer 360 Experience (#V360E).

Born out of a prison visit to AGAPE Contact Centre, #V360E was launched as a platform and opportunity for students to explore unusual volunteer experiences and learn more about the hidden communities in Singapore.

GIC Sparks & Smiles

Mentor someone in need
Launched in 2015, GIC Sparks & Smiles (Sparks) supports committed Singaporean students from low-income households in making a real difference in the lives of others. The programme seeks to inspire and enable youths in Singapore to play a positive and active role in their communities.

GIC works closely with its charity partner Beyond Social Services (Beyond) to deliver the programme and awardees will gain access to different skills, experiences and opportunities, to empower them to grow in confidence and leadership.

Overseas Community Engagement Projects

Overseas Exposure Programme

Like the sun's glow, participants of Overseas Community Engagement Projects (OCEP) bring light and warmth to the communities they serve, creating sustainable impact through small but consistent efforts.

Every year, over 30 teams of NTU students travel to the neighbouring countries in ASEAN or the Asia region to serve communities beyond their home ground.

NTU students have contributed in many ways - from laying pipes and constructing water tanks to deliver fresh water to remote villages, to building school facilities and community halls, and conducting educational programmes for school children and youth.
