Seminar Abstract | |
FDM 3D printing has been widely used for prototyping and fabrication of visual samples, such as automotive, aerospace, and biomedical applications. Despite of recent advancement in FDM 3D printing, 3 critical problems, low mechanical properties, low throughput, lack of quality management method, remain a barrier to adopt in various applications. In this study, we proposed a method to improve mechanical properties and printing time through a software approach. With our approach, the relative ultimate tensile strength had increased by 15 % compared to commonly used method. At the same time, printing time have been reduced by nearly 30% at most. Overall, our approach is a method that not only improves the mechanical properties but also reduces the printing time using only software without hardware modifications and upgrades. | |
