Prof Lai awarded START Scholarship

After receiving the SMART Postdoctoral Scholarship in 2015, Assistant Professor Lai Changquan from the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering in Nanyang Technological University has now been awarded the START Scholarship.

The Singapore Teaching and Research Talent (START) scheme was set up in 2015 to nurture and attract young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career in NUS, NTU, SMU or SUTD. On receiving the award, Dr. Lai expressed his gratitude, saying, ""I am most humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as an academic in my homeland, Singapore, and I will continue to do my best to bless the society through my teaching and research.""

The 7th START Award Ceremony was held on 27 Sep 2021 via Zoom and features opening remarks and a dialogue session with Education Minister Chan Chun Sing.
