A Community Rooted in Wellbeing

At the heart of everything we do is the wellbeing of our students. We are committed to demonstrating that we have always, and will always, fight for the betterment of students. With the exciting addition of the three new houses, we are eager to support students in shaping the identity of their houses, offering our full backing for any vision they have. Together, we will strengthen the bonds between our Houses and build a LKCMedicine that feels like family—one where no student ever feels alone.

As we continue this year, we want to put a special focus on physical and mental wellbeing. Medical school can feel pressurising, and as such, we want to ensure that every student at LKCMedicine feels supported holistically. From wellness workshops to fitness events, MedSoc will help them find balance, build resilience, and thrive. Let us create memories that will stay with us for life. In our family, every student will be supported to pursue their interests, from sports to music to research, we hope to be the platform that jumpstarts their journey.

A Year of Transformation

As we move forward from our partnership with Imperial College, we have a unique opportunity to establish our own identity. I am excited about the possibility of developing a brand that truly represents who we are and what we stand for. This will involve celebrating our achievements, highlighting our values, and fostering a sense of pride and unity within the LKCMedicine community. We strive to build an identity that reflects our distinctiveness and our collective spirit. This year is one of new beginnings and bold ambitions. As we step into a future where LKCMedicine stands on its own, we are committed to not only preserving the legacy of our past but also forging an identity that is uniquely ours. This is a defining moment for our School, and MedSoc is eager to champion that transformation.

Expanding Our Horizons

As we grow, so will our reach. We are dedicated to building connections—whether through partnerships with international medical schools or collaborations with local organisations, we want to bring fresh opportunities and exposure to our students. We will continue contributing to the local medical school scene through collaborations with NUS and Duke-NUS and playing our part in the TriMedsoc Alliance. Now, more than ever, as LKCMedicine moves forward as a solely NTU school, we are focused on strengthening our brand and showing to the world the remarkable talent, innovation, and compassion that define our student body.

Giving back to the society is a huge focus of ours. We will cultivate future doctors who have a strong sense of volunteerism through our wide diversity of Local Community Involvement Projects and Overseas Community Involvement Projects.

Looking Ahead with Hope

Our greatest aspiration is simple – to make sure that every student feels cared for, seen, and supported. This isn’t just our goal; it’s our promise to you. We know that medical school isn’t easy, but together we can make this journey an unforgettable one So, let’s come together this year—not just as classmates, but as friends and as family. Let’s build a LKCMedicine that we can all be proud of, one that stands for excellence, empathy, and unity. Together, we can create something truly special.

With warmth and excitement,
Keng Xin Yi
