Special Message: Congratulations, Class of 2022!

On 23 July, LKCMedicine celebrated the graduation of its fifth cohort of young doctors, who completed their MBBS programme amid a global pandemic. At the Convocation ceremony, the School’s leadership and faculty share their congratulatory messages for the Class of 2022 as they take on the role of caring for patients in hospitals across Singapore.

LKCMedicine Governing Board Chairman Mr Lim Chuan Poh

“I am really happy to be here to preside over the graduation of the Class of 2022. This is the fifth cohort that LKCMedicine has produced. Very importantly, there are four senior groups that have been out there who have received excellent feedback about their performance in the hospitals and polyclinics. Congratulations to the Class of 2022! Keep up the good work and fly the flag for LKCMedicine.”

Dean Professor Joseph Sung

“Hi, Class of 2022! My heartiest congratulations for all your hard work. Your hard work is paying off. You have now become a real doctor and you have a splendid career in front of you. I congratulate you as well as your parents for such a big achievement and I wish you every success in your future career.”

Vice-Dean (Education) Professor Jennifer Cleland

“Congratulations to the LKCMedicine Class of 2022! You did not have an easy five years. Much of the latter part of your degree was impacted quite heavily by COVID-19 but you got through it and with your goodwill, your determination and your hard work. You must be very proud of where you are today. Congratulations!”

Assistant Dean for Year 5 Associate Professor Tham Kum Ying

“I just want to say congratulations to the Class of 2022. It’s really exciting to see you graduating because in my mind, you have always been the COVID class when you lost so many clinical placement opportunities both as Year 3 and Year 4 but you caught up beautifully. I am very proud of you and it’s great to be at this Convocation ceremony with you. Congratulations again!”

Director of PhD Programmes and Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics Wilson Goh

“Congratulations to the Class of 2022! It has been a very difficult time and you have experienced dramatic disruptions in the last two years of your PhD lives. In a world where we are post-pandemic but yet at the same time, we are beginning to see new changes to the environment and new health problems emerge, you will be increasingly challenged to tap on to your knowledge and your skillset to find new solutions and new innovations to help others as well. I look forward to seeing you go do great things in the future.”
