Message from Our Staff: Up close with Professor Simon Collingwood Kitto
By Professor Simon Collingwood Kitto, Assistant Dean (Humanities), LKCMedicine |
Medical Humanities brings together concepts from the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines, to train doctors to be empathetic and clinically effective practitioners who provide patient-centred care.
With the transition to the enhanced MBBS programme, students enrolling into the School from 2024 can look forward to studying medical humanities throughout the five years of their medical education.
The expanded scope of medical humanities in the MBBS curriculum will allow LKCMedicine students to gain a deeper understanding of the patients’ journey and what matters to them and their family members, while also developing the capacity to respond to clinical and occupational uncertainties.
