COVID-19 Experts From Imperial and Singapore Share Lessons From Pandemic
To address the rapidly evolving COVID19 situation, scientists from LKCMedicine, National Centre of Infectious Diseases (NCID) and Imperial College London (Imperial) gathered at a virtual symposium to discuss their research on 3 December 2021. The symposium was co-organised by LKCMedicine’s Professors Laurent Renia and Lim Kah Leong, NCID’s Leo Yee Sin and David Lye, and Imperial’s Professors Charles Bangham and Graham Cooke. Speakers at the symposium included Professor Shiranee Sriskandan, Imperial’s Department of Infectious Disease; Dr Barnaby Young, Head of the Singapore Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network at NCID; Professor Azra Ghani, Imperial’s School of Public Health; and Professor Peter Openshaw, Imperial’s National Heart & Lung Institute. Professor Laurent Renia, Director of the Respiratory and Infectious Diseases Programme at LKCMedicine, also spoke about his research into immune responses in people who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 and those who have acquired natural immunity from infection. The event was the third of a continuing series of joint symposia between the three partners aimed at strengthening this valuable collaboration.
