Dr. Quek Yong Jing Daniel, MBBS, MMed(Emergency Medicine), FRCEM, FAMS, MHPE, is a Senior Consultant in the Emergency Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2009 and completed his specialist training in Emergency Medicine in 2015. In 2024, Dr. Quek further enhanced his expertise in medical education by earning a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, Netherlands. Dr. Quek has extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience. His clinical expertise is in emergency medicine with interests in critical care, having completed a Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship in Emergency Medicine Critical Care at the National Taiwan University Hospital.

A passionate educator, Dr. Quek has contributed significantly to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at LKCMedicine. In his academic role, he was the Principal Lead for Emergency Medicine and Vertical Theme co-lead for Clinical Practice and Patient Safety at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine). He is currently the Assistant Dean, MBBS Lead, and oversees the overall design and implementation of the MBBS programme. He is concurrently the Vertical Theme co-lead for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He is a Core Clinical Faculty Member of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Emergency Medicine Residency Programme. Dr Quek also co-led a new care model entitled Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, which enables earlier physiotherapy intervention by upskilling physiotherapists. He has been recognized multiple times for his excellence in teaching. He is the recipient of multiple TTSH Top Teachers Award, the NHG Teaching Award for Senior Clinicians, NHG Interprofessional Teaching Award, the NUS Medicine Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the LKCMedicine Special Recognition Awards.

Dr. Quek's research interests include quality improvement in acute stroke care, resuscitation, and the impact of new care models on healthcare delivery. In the area of medical education, his current interests includes reflective practice, leveraging this approach to help learners bridge the gap between theory and clinical application. He has also been actively involved in quality improvement projects, notably leading initiatives to enhance the efficiency of hyperacute stroke management and the care of patients with severe pneumonia.

Dr. Quek is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. He is also actively engaged in professional service, co-chairing the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Workgroup, contributing as member of the Tan Tock Seng Hospital ICU Committee and the Singapore National Post-Cardiac Arrest and Survivorship (PCAS) Workgroup.

Dr. Quek continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of medical professionals while advancing the field of emergency medicine.
