Programme Overview
MSE offers higher degree programmes by research on a part-time and full-time basis which has a minimum and maximum periods of candidature. They are:

Potential students may submit their applications here. Those who are accepted may be admitted in either January or August, subject to the approval of the University.
The student will work under the supervision of a faculty member whose research interests are in the area proposed by the student. MSE carries out research in a variety of materials-related fields. The major research areas are:
- Biomaterial and Biomedical Devices
- Computational Materials Science
- Defence Materials
- Functional Materials and Composites
- Materials for Sustainability
- Nanoelectronics, Nanomaterials and Multiferroics
Programme Structure
The coursework requirements for the two programmes are:
- M.Eng. - 9 Academic Units with an average grade of B- or CGPA of 3.0
- Ph.D. - 18 Academic Units, with an average grade of B or CGPA of 3.5
In both programmes, no course grade can be below C+
All Ph.D. students must have at least 1 accepted first author publication before thesis submission.
