Announcement for NRF-CRP30 Award – Professor Ali Miserez
We are delighted to announce that Professor Ali Miserez has been awarded the National Research Foundation (NRF) Competitive Research Programme (CRP) grant for his research programme titled “Phase-Separating Peptides as a General Platform for Intracellular Delivery of Antibody Therapeutics”. Prof Miserez leads a multidisciplinary team at NTU comprising Team-PIs from School of Materials Science & Engineering, School Biological Sciences (SBS) and the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), A*STAR.
Antibody-based therapeutics show immense promise for treating diseases, but targeting intracellular antigens remains a challenge. The team developed phase-separating peptides (PSPs) that can encapsulate antibodies and deliver them into cells. The programme aims to combine this delivery platform with functional antibodies targeting intracellular targets, develop custom antibody drug conjugates, and demonstrate their efficacy in live cell assays and animal models.
About the NRF-CRP
The National Research Foundation (NRF) Competitive Research Programme (CRP) funding scheme seeks to foster the formation of multi-disciplinary teams to conduct cutting-edge research projects that are of relevance to Singapore and the society. The CRP funds use-inspired basic research projects that are selected through a merit review process based on scientific excellence. The theme of the proposed research project must be motivated by an important need or problem to be solved.
Our heartiest congratulations to the Prof Miserez and team on winning this grant!
