Nanyang Assistant Professor Wu Dongshuang Awarded the PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship 2024

We are thrilled to share that Nanyang Assistant Professor Wu Dongshuang has been awarded the Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) Emerging Investigator Lectureship 2024

The PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship was established to recognise the exceptional contributions of early career scientists in the fields of physical chemistry, chemical physics, and biophysical chemistry. This award not only acknowledges the groundbreaking work of young researchers but also provides a platform for them to showcase their research on an international stage. The recipient will receive a £1000 contribution towards travel and accommodation costs to present a lecture at a leading international meeting. Additionally, shortlisted nominees for this award are invited to contribute to an Emerging Investigators-themed collection.

Dr Wu has been making waves in the scientific community with her innovative research in nanomaterials. Before joining NTU, she was a Specific Research Fellow (2014-2021) and subsequently an Assistant Professor (2021-2022) at Kyoto University, Japan. Her impressive portfolio includes over sixty peer-reviewed research articles published in high-impact journals and five international patents. Her research group is at the forefront of developing nanomaterials with precisely controlled composition, size, shape, and crystal structure. They focus particularly on metals and their alloys for catalysis, as well as energy-related applications. Dr Wu’s expertise lies in exploring the properties of surfaces and interfaces, which aims to uncover the intrinsic factors that connect nanomaterial structures with their target applications through advanced characterisation methods. Her research not only advances scientific understanding but also paves the way for innovations in catalysis and energy solutions.

The PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship Award is a testament to Dr Wu’s outstanding contributions to materials chemistry. We eagerly anticipate the insights she will share in her upcoming lecture and her continue impact on the scientific community.

Our heartiest congratulations to Dr Wu on this well-deserved recognition!
