Postgraduate Programmes
Hi! Have you thought about the possibility of pursuing postgraduate studies to give your career a boost? We are thrilled to introduce postgraduate study opportunities at the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. As a subject, Materials Science at NTU is ranked one of the top in the world by the most recognized university rankings, and we are proud to offer comprehensive postgraduate programmes that prepare students for success in this exciting and rapidly growing discipline.
At our institution, we are committed to attracting a diverse group of students from all around the world, including the ASEAN region. We believe that diversity is key to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that benefits all students.
At MSE, we offer a selection of postgraduate programs leading to a PhD, MEng, MSc or FlexiMasters degree.
Our PhD program is designed to prepare students for careers in cutting-edge research and development. Outstanding research achievements by our faculty are a testament to the quality of our program, and our commitment to provide our students with the resources and support they need to excel in research.
For students who are interested in pursuing a more practice-oriented path, our MEng program offers hands-on training and practical experience that prepare them for success in the industry. Whatever your career goals may be, our MEng program provides you with a balance of coursework and practical research exposure to help you achieve them.
We are excited to announce that we have developed an MSc program that offers a blended-learning or fully online option. This program is designed to provide students with the flexibility and convenience they need to pursue their education at their own pace, without sacrificing the quality of their learning experience. Selected MSc students can also pursue a dissertation option to amass some hands-on research experience.
The latest addition to our postgraduate studies offerings is the FlexiMasters program. This programme allows students to select any combination of courses from the wide selection available, to make up the 15 academic units (AUs) required to be awarded a FlexiMasters degree. Students are free to progress entirely at their own pace, and can even choose to stack up their FlexiMasters credits towards a full MSc degree if they decide to do so later on. It is suitable for professionals working in Engineering, Quality Control, Failure Analysis, Manufacturing, Sustainability, R&D and beyond.
At MSE, we care about providing students with the most effective learning platform. Together with pedagogy experts, we developed a state-of-the-art learning platform called the Advanced Teaching and Learning Application System (ATLAS), which offers a range of advantages, including interactive and engaging coursework contents, personalized learning experiences, dynamic reason graph for each course and real-time feedback from instructors. ATLAS offers students across all our postgraduate programs the freedom to control their learning pace anytime, anywhere and provides them with the best possible learning experience. Join us and explore it for yourself!
–Here’s what Zhang Jianghong, our alumnus, has to say:
“The MSc programme in Materials Science and Engineering benefits me in three main aspects. Firstly, the courses taken in MSc programme improved my understanding of materials science, building a systematic knowledge framework for me. Secondly, the gained skills from the research of the dissertation project are useful for my recent research. Moreover, seminars hosted by MSE and NTU allow me to know more about cutting-edge research topics, giving me inspirations for academic and career planning.”-- Zhang Jianghong. If you are interested in postgraduate studies, do visit our website to learn more about our programs.
