Making machines smarter
Artificial intelligence (AI) is powering our everyday experiences. By analysing large amounts of data to identify patterns and predict outcomes with lightning speed, AI can help us save money, work smarter, make better decisions, reduce the toll of human error and more.
Researchers at NTU are exploring this transformative technology and finding new applications. They have developed AI tools that can decode emotions in text, identify doctored images and facilitate effective trading. NTU researchers have also used AI to optimise the cooling of data centres to reduce energy needs, as well as developed AI digital twins to better manage water treatment facilities.
Amid these advances, NTU researchers emphasise that AI should be human-centred and that we must understand the technology to regulate it.
