Developing resources for lifelong learning among educators
To arm educators with the latest knowledge and advance their skill sets in an increasingly digitalised world, NTU Singapore is working with Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE), publisher and leading provider of educational solutions, to develop bite-sized online learning courses designed to build up specific skillsets for the modern educator.
Under this five-year collaboration, inked on 1 July, NTU’s Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE@NTU) will tap on the expertise of the University’s faculty to design the curriculum and content for over 40 online courses. MCE will then package the content into courses with interactive elements to make them more engaging for learners.
These courses will be offered to K-12 educators (the equivalent of primary and secondary school educators) outside Singapore on a subscription basis through MCEduHub for Professional Development (PD) – MCE’s 24/7 learning portal designed for educators to access certified courses, anytime and anywhere.
This collaboration builds on the success of a pilot two-hour online course launched last year, when schools had to implement home-based learning in light of the COVID-19 restrictions.
