NTU rises to 30th place, ranks No.1 in five subjects in US News & World Report
NTU Singapore has risen three places to rank 30th globally in this year’s US News & World Report’s global university rankings, and has topped the charts in five subjects.
NTU is ranked first globally in five subjects: Condensed Matter Physics, Energy and Fuels, Materials Science, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, and Physical Chemistry.
It has twelve subjects in the global top 10, including Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2nd), Engineering (2nd), Chemistry (3rd), Chemical Engineering (6th), Computer Science (6th), and Optics (10th).
NTU also ranked 2nd in Artificial Intelligence, a new subject added to the rankings this year.
The US News & World Report’s global university rankings were calculated using 13 indicators and weights that measures global research performance.
To date, NTU has climbed 95 places from the 125th spot since the US News & World Report rankings started in 2014.
NTU saw improvements in Citation Impact, International Collaboration – Relative to Country, and percentage of Highly Cited Papers (in both the Top 10 per cent and Top 1 per cent).
The University also performed well for global research reputation, total citations, and books.
This year’s Best Global Universities ranked 2,000 institutions worldwide.
