Dr Elizabeth Kim lends her support in the development of Keppel Centre for Art Education (KCAE)

Dr Elizabeth Kim, Education Research Scientist from the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), was invited to help support the development of the newly revamped Keppel Centre for Art Education (KCAE) in the National Gallery Singapore, which re-opened on 16 December 2023, alongside a specialized team including Mr Izad Ghalid, Special Education Specialist at Temasek Polytechnic, Mr Yann Follain, Architect and Founder of WY-TO, Ms Elaine Chan-Hoppner, Assistant Director of Learning/Early Years at National Gallery Singapore and Ms Nur Basyirah, Assistant Manager of Early Years at National Gallery Singapore. As an external Early Years Consultant, she designed functional and creative guidelines specific to early child development to ensure that the centre was grounded in child-led, play-based learning that supports the multiple ways families and young children explore and interact with art. Dr Kim also co-developed survey questions, user-testing, and analysis report.
