NIE TSP and URECA Students Co-Author Paper in Leading Science Education Journal

Dr Joonhyeong Park and Dr Yew Jin Lee from the Natural Sciences and Science Education (NSSE) Department have recently published a paper titled “The Complementary Roles of Visual and Written Representations Within Figures in Science Textbooks” in Research in Science Education, one of the top journals in the field. The paper was co-authored with Grace Tan, a student from the NIE Teaching Scholars Programme (TSP), and Ada Koh, an NTU URECA student at the time of the study. Ada Koh, deeply inspired by her research experience through the URECA programme, continued her academic journey by undertaking another URECA project with Dr Lee the following academic year. She has since joined NIE as a student teacher, furthering her commitment to the field of education. This publication highlights the invaluable opportunities that the URECA programme offers to students, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to educational research while shaping their professional trajectories.
