Visit from Ministry of Education's English Language and Literacy Branch

In an insightful sharing and discussion session held on 13 October 2023, members of the Ministry of Education's English Language and Literacy Branch (MOE ELL) gathered at the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC). Attended by representatives from various research centres and academic groups, including English Language and Literature Academic Group (ELL AG), Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP) and Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), the session focused on the challenges faced by struggling students in the Learning Support Programme (LSP). Critical questions emerged, centering on early identification, curriculum differentiation, and the integration of technology to enhance literacy support. Emphasizing the importance of tailored interventions and empowering educators, discussions also explored avenues for future collaboration and research. These conversations are pivotal, paving the way for innovative solutions that hold the potential to transform our educational landscape significantly.
