About the Grant 

NTU Entrepreneurship Academy is proud to present the Growing Entrepreneurial Talents Grant (GET). This grant is designed to empower students, fostering collaboration and innovation to turn their visionary ideas into reality. The grant aims to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit, drive progress, and develop groundbreaking solutions that introduce impactful innovations, making a tangible difference in society. 

Key Benefit

Teams that are shortlisted will have the chance to present their pitch decks to a panel of judges. The panel will evaluate each presentation and decide the amount of funding that qualifying teams will receive, which can be up to S$5,000. 

 

Participating Team Criteria

At least one full-time student (undergraduate/postgraduate) must be from NTU at the point of application. 

Submission

Teams to fill up the application form to submit their business proposal and pitch deck.

Teams must submit a pitch deck of not more than 8 slides (excluding cover slide) and a business proposal (between 1500 - 2000 words*) that address all the points listed in the business proposal template in English only.

Business proposal requirements: 

  1. A clear description of your problem statement 
  2. A detailed description of your team’s proposed solution 
  3. Identify your competition (companies, products, technologies or status quo) 
  4. If possible, present your POC or MVP  
  5. A 100-word description of your project that can be shared publicly 
  6. A description of team members' roles and responsibilities 
  7. One-year project timeline with clearly indicated milestones
  8. Provide a detailed breakdown for the grant usage (up to S$5,000)

*Pages in the Annex are not counted towards the world limit.

Mr Jason is an entrepreneur, angel investor, and practitioner faculty in 48 universities in UK, USA, France, Australia, and Singapore with more than 2 decades of experiences. His primary venture, The Guild of Storytellers Pte Ltd has represented the University of Cambridge (England) for Entrepreneurship to the British Royal Family in The Royal Visit in 2018. Jason is an alumnus of University of Cambridge (MSt), Imperial College London (MBA) and a Life member of the Oxbridge Society.

Mr Kelvin Kok is a seasoned technopreneur and currently is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of KOOKREE PTE LTD, a Singapore-based deep tech company specializing in Generative AI and Computer Vision Solutions. The company is dipping into the space of Generative AI and developing text2video and image2video solutions to revolutionize the video advertising industry. The company is also exploring AI possibilities to make lives simpler, smarter, and safer in video analytics with focus in the Public Safety & Security and Smart Cities. Previously, he founded a consultancy dedicated to assisting clients with concept development and experimentation.

Susan-Teh

Ms Susan Teh

Susan was Head of marketing in major conglomerates including Daimler and Nokia, leading global marketing initiatives for renowned brands Mercedes Benz and Nokia and worked across Europe, the USA, and Asia. She was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Mount Faber Leisure Group Pte Ltd, a leading company in the business of leisure and tourism in Singapore. Thereafter, she joined Temasek Holdings Private Limited in the Consumer and Real Estate Investment Cluster and National Gallery Singapore as Corporate Advisor. Recognising the support of national systems in her success, Susan is committed to societal contributions particularly in sustainability. In 2021, she founded Holocene, a Singapore-based bio-tech company dedicated to socially and environmentally responsible solutions for sustainable living, championing Polymer and Food Waste upcycling and Grow Local initiatives to produce nutritional needs locally by 2030. Susan was awarded Most Promising Entrepreneur Award, Asia Pacific in the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurs Award in 2010. She was recently the Guest of Honour at Nanyang Technological University, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotech convocation 2024. In her speech, Susan shared her green initiatives and was hoping to inspire graduates to develop future innovations in addressing climate change.

Mr Abhilash Pillai

Abhilash is the Practice Director and Co-Founder of Regal Law LLC, a reputable mid-size law firm with seven lawyers. Having worked in the legal industry for over a decade, Abhilash has always played a key role in introducing technology to legal practice. Abhilash is a co-founder of Lawguru which aimed to be a legal directory and a resource portal. He also is the co-founder of Lawbot Pte Ltd, a company that aims to introduce artificial intelligence to key legal functions starting with a chatbot that helps lawyers qualify the leads and aims to provide prospective clients with clear and precise answers to complex legal questions. Benefits of the Grant

Teams can connect with mentors of their choice upon receiving the grant until the final report is submitted.  

Teams will have access to a meeting room at Innovation Port at Gaia for weekly discussions. 

Evaluation Criteria 

Teams will be evaluated based on their business proposal submissions. Shortlisted teams will present their pitch decks in person at Innovation Port at Gaia to the resident panel members.

Grant Disbursement

The fund will be disbursed over two tranches: 

  1. 30% upon awarded grant 
  2. 70% after submission of team’s final report
